Frequently asked questions

What counts as a "changelog entry"?

Each individual release note you write — a title, version, category, and content. Free accounts can have up to 20 total (published + draft combined); Pro accounts have no limit.

What happens when I hit the free plan's view limit?

Your widget shows a temporary "unavailable" state to new visitors once you pass 5,000 widget loads in a calendar month — it resets automatically every 30 days. Upgrading to Pro removes this cap entirely.

What is an "authorized domain," and do I need to set one?

It's optional. By default your widget works from anywhere. Adding a domain locks your project key to only work on that domain, preventing anyone who copies your key from reusing it elsewhere. Free accounts can lock to 1 domain; Pro accounts can lock to up to 5 (useful for a production site plus a staging environment).

What's the difference between the analytics on Free vs. Pro?

Free shows your total widget views and total widget opens — enough to know your widget is working and being seen. Pro adds a per-entry breakdown (which specific releases people actually read) and view trends over time, so you can see what content resonates.

Why is CSV export a paid feature but JSON isn't?

JSON is the easiest format for re-importing your data elsewhere or building your own integrations, so it stays free and unrestricted. CSV is aimed at spreadsheet-based reporting and analysis — a more "business use" case we reserve for Pro. Markdown sits in between: free accounts can export their 5 most recent entries (enough to repurpose a recent update elsewhere), Pro accounts can export everything.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — manage or cancel your subscription anytime from the "Manage Subscription" button in your dashboard, which opens your secure billing portal. No support ticket required.

Do I need a credit card to start on the Free plan?

No. Free is genuinely free, indefinitely — no card required, no trial countdown.
